Alter Christus is an organization which seeks to gather together a group of dedicated lay people and clergy for the purpose of creating an awareness of the needs of our seminarians and priests. Representatives from every parish in the archdiocese will meet periodically for the purpose of obtaining up-to-date information from the Archdiocesan Vocations Office on upcoming vocations-related events. We seek to enroll at least one person from every parish who will then become the liaison between the Office of Vocations and his pastor.

Ideally, every single parishioner in the Archdiocese of Atlanta will understand that his support and prayers are vital to the formation of the young men of Atlanta who are working towards priestly ordination.

Prayer for Vocations

God, our Father, we turn to you in this time of great need. We trust in your loving kindness and ask you to hear the prayers we offer for Your Church. Through your grace, we seek men and women willing to generously offer their lives to You in the priesthood and religious life, for You inspire and bring to fulfillment every good intention.

Bless and guide those who are discerning Your call to holiness and service. Give them courage, steadfast love and a spirit of charity as they seek to respond faithfully to You.

We offer this prayer for the Archdiocese of Atlanta and for the whole Church in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is Lord for ever and ever.
